The GOD of The Bible IS a Trinity. Three distinct Beings, One GOD. All Three Beings are in perfect agreement and purpose with One Another.
While it is true that the word “Trinity” does not appear in The Bible, that is of little to no consequence; there are several terms we use that do not distinctly appear in Scripture in order to name something clearly and repeatedly described in Scripture. The word “Trinity” is a name that describes The GOD (‘Elohiym) of The Bible as presented in The Bible. Three distinct Beings – The Father, The Son/WORD, The Holy Spirit – are repeatedly mentioned together, and many times interacting with One Another.
There are those who claim that these are all different manifestations of the same One Being, however, does One Being interact with and audibly talk to Himself being in two places at once? Or would we call that schizophrenia? Does One Being tell Himself, “Come, sit at my right hand until Your enemies are made Your footstool?” Thus inviting Himself to sit on a Throne next to His own Throne next to Himself? And then there is Holy Spirit, Who was sent to earth to rest upon Jesus of Nazareth and empower Him for Jesus’ earthly ministry, and yet before Jesus’ ascension He said He had to return to The Father so that the Holy Spirit could come and empower the Believers to continue the work of The Kingdom. Jesus, Who was immersed in Holy Spirit, had to return to Heaven so Holy Spirit could be loosed in full on this Earth; it was better for us that Jesus return to The Father so that Holy Spirit could come and do His part through us. Again, Three distinct Beings.
Three distinct Beings are presented as ‘Elohiym (the plural of GOD) throughout Scripture. Each one of them GOD, yet all together GOD. The Perfect Unity of Purpose, Thought, and Action.
Most simply described:
The Trinity (‘Elohiym/GOD) IS Three Distinct Beings: Father, Son/WORD, Holy Spirit
The Father IS GOD
The Father is not The Son/WORD
The Father is not Holy Spirit
The Son/WORD IS GOD
The Son/WORD is not The Father
The Son/WORD is not Holy Spirit
Holy Spirit IS GOD
Holy Spirit is not The Father
Holy Spirit is not The Son/WORD
Each Distinct Being has His Distinct role and purpose in the Godhead/Trinity.
There also appears to be a Heirarchy within the Godhead (an actual Biblical word)/Trinity:
1) Father
2) Son/WORD
3) Holy Spirit
And yet, in Scripture we see The Father elevate The Son, The Son elevate The Father, and The Son elevate Holy Spirit, and Holy Spirit will not speak of Himself.
GOD IS a Godhead, or Trinity, or Triumvirate; however you would like to express it.
Numerous events from Scripture will be presented along these lines to make clear ‘Elohiym/GOD/The Trinity.
