Have you ever wondered why America has such an oversized, ridiculously bloated federal government? And why the states have oversized, bloated governments also?
The answer to this is really quite simple. It is found in the Book of Proverbs.
For the transgression of a land many are the princes thereof: but by a man of understanding and knowledge the state thereof shall be prolonged.
(Proverbs 28:2 KJV)
As applying to our assertion, and Scripture, the important words here are as follows:
transgression – pesha (H6588) – revolt (national, moral or religious): rebellion, sin, transgression, trespasssive
land – ‘erets (H776) – earth: country, earth, field, ground, land, nations
many – rab (H7227) – abundant (in quantity, size, age, number, rank)
princes – sar (H8269) – a head person (of any rank or class): captain, chief, governor, keeper, lord, master, prince, ruler, steward
This verse of Scripture plainly tells us why America has such an enormously oversized, and unconstitutional government bureaucracy.
America has been in revolt against the LORD GOD Almighty, and the revolt is growing ever worse. Because of this, the number of “princes” (people in the government running America, including behind the scenes in hidden departments, bureaus, agencies, etc.) has burgeoned out of control. The reason is really quite simple and straight forward.
Those with evil and selfish intent demand an ever-growing government to give them an abundance of “free stuff” at the expense of their neighbors, and the freedom to pursue all manner of carnal, fleshly evils in rebellion against the LORD GOD Almighty.
The only way to keep such a society in check is through a severly bloated government which eventually becomes everybody’s keeper. The rebellions don’t see it now, but the government they are demanding will eventually become their slavemasters; eventually driving them into ever deeper rebellion, dependence, depravity, and despair.
This is not good news. This is not what any sane, thinking person wants for their life. This is not the America a still slight majority of Americans want to live in. However, it is the America that is our future if we do not do what is right and righteous to change it.
